Game modes

As of update v6.0.0, there are 32 total game modes available, 7 of which are Public Game Modes, 8 of them are Party Game Modes and the rest of them are Custom Game Modes. They are shown in the page image, and explained in greater detail below.

Note that the game mode names are abbreviated to fit on the names of the servers. For example, Free For All is shortened to "FFA" (The abbreviated names are listed beside the normal game mode names).

Public Game Modes[]

Public Game Modes are the modes on Official Servers that you can earn KR and XP from. They have a 4-minute timer, and your kills and deaths along with other are counted at the end of the match. These modes can also be played on custom games.

Note: Your stats won't be affected unless you play the public game until the very end of the match. As of update v5.0.0, leaving a game before the timer ends will count as a lost game in your Stats.

Free for All (FFA)[]

Everyone plays against each other. The player who has the most points at the end of the round wins.

Hardpoint (POINT)[]

Added in v0.9.9.95, Hardpoint is a team-based game mode that requires teamwork to control the objective zones well. There are 4 objective zones presented on the map and any 1 of them is available per minute, Standing inside them awards you and your team's objective score with 10 points per 1.5 seconds. The winner is the team with the most objective points. All of the maps in the current rotation have their hardpoint objective zones in a predetermined order.

Capture The Flag (CTF) []

Added in v0.9.99997, Capture The Flag is a team-based game mode where the objective is to steal the enemy team's flag from their flag base, and take it to your team's flag base. You won't be able to capture the opposite's flag at your flag base if your team's flag is stolen by an enemy. If you kill an enemy that has your team's flag, it will stay in place until you or your teammates touch it, and then it will teleport back to its flag base. You can earn special points in this game mode for picking and capturing the opposite's flag, returning your team's flag to its flag base, and snatching your team's flag by killing the enemy with it. Flags that are outside their flag base for 45 seconds will reset itself.

CTF Flag

The flags in Krunker's Capture the Flag game mode, your team's flag will always be blue and the opponent team's flag will always be red (and vice versa).

Kill Confirmed (KC)[]

Added in v2.5.2, Kill Confirmed is a team-based game mode where each killed player drops a token with the "K" symbol on it and others can collect it. Claiming a blue token gives 25 points to the claimer, while denying a red token (claiming a teammate's token) offers 10 points. The winner is the team with the most blue tokens collected.

Domination (DOM)[]

Added in v4.0.7, Domination is a team-based game mode where you secure the objective zones. There are 3 zones on the map, zones A, B, and C. The objective is to capture any of the 3 zones, and hold them down as long as possible. To secure a zone, players in the same team must stand in the highlighted zone for 10 seconds. You will see a progress bar indicating the progress of securing the zone and a chat message when you successfully secured it. The more players from the same team securing a zone at the same time, the faster the progress completes. If players from both teams are contesting the same zone, the progress will remain in a contested state. Neither of both team gains progress from the same zone until the contesting ends. If all team members leave the zone before it is captured, capture progress resets. Players who successfully secured any zone earn 200 points, and 10 objective points are added to their team's score every 1.5 seconds. This game mode is currently not available on all rotation maps.

Deposit (DEPO)[]

Added in v5.5.2, Deposit is a team-based mix of Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint, where you kill players, gather their K token (red for enemies, blue for teammates) and deposit it into the point zone. These zones are the same 4 for Hardpoint in all maps. Collecting each coin grants 5 points, and depositing grants 75 points each. The limit on tokens you can hold at once is currently 20, and they do despawn after time.

Party Game Modes[]

Party Game Modes work like Public Game Modes except one of them is available as the 4th option in the voting system, seen from the indicator "Party" at the bottom left of the option. They were initially implemented in v3.7.3 in a type of server known as "24/7 Party Modes", which, as the name suggests, ran these game modes all day. These servers had a player limit of 12 instead of 8. Between v3.7.3 and v3.7.4, they gave an additional 15 KR bonus to the winning player in addition to the KR received from the normal scoring system, making Sharp Shooter the only game mode players were able to get up to 75 KR in one round (if they have Krunker Premium, are playing in Challenge Mode, and if they win the game). However, in v3.7.5, the 15 KR bonus was removed, and in v5.0.0, the 24/7 Party Mode servers were integrated into Official Servers and the player limit was changed back to 8.

Gun Game (GUN)[]

Added in v1.3.6 as a custom game mode and became a party game mode in v3.7.3, Gun Game is a variant of Free for All where when you kill players. your weapon upgrades to a better weapon. Each time you kill a player, your weapon will upgrade into the next gun in a specific order. The order is listed below:

PistolAkimbo PistolAuto PistolDesert EagleRevolverAlien BlasterTehchy-9ShotgunSubmachine GunAkimbo UziAssault RifleFamasMachine GunSniper RifleBlasterSemi AutoRocket LauncherCrossbowNoob TubeCombat Knife

The first player to complete the final knife level and kill an enemy by meleeing or throwing the knife wins the match. Killing a player with a knife or a throwing knife before reaching the said level will downgrade the weapon level of that player by one, but keep yours the same.

Classic FFA[]

Sharp Shooter (SHRP)[]

Added in v2.6.8 as a custom game mode and became a party game mode in v3.7.4, Sharp Shooter is an FFA-based game mode with a twist that all players will be equipped with a random weapon every 20 seconds. As of v3.8.1, there is also a Perks system in Sharp Shooter that gives you extra speed, reload time, and fire rate according to your killstreak.

Kranked FFA (KRANK)[]

Added in v5.0.7, Kranked is a variant of Free for All where once you kill an enemy, a 15-second timer will be activated. If you fail to kill another player before the timer runs out, you will explode and die. During the countdown (being "Kranked"), players will have a 25% speed boost, 35% reload speed boost, and 15% fire rate boost.

Deposit FFA (DEPOFFA)[]

Added in v5.5.2, Deposit FFA is a variation of Deposit, where instead of teams, it's Free for All. Points work the same, a coin claim is5 points, and depositing grants 75 points each. the limit on coins you can hold at once is currently 20.

Custom Game Modes[]

In addition to the public and party game modes, players can also choose these game modes for custom lobbies they host.

King Of The Hill (KING)[]

Added in v2.0.1, King Of The Hill is the FFA version of Hardpoint. The objective is to have the highest score at the end of the round.

This game mode was removed from the public game modes in v2.3.0, due to several players exploiting it.

Parkour (BHOP)[]

Added in v0.9.91, Parkour is a single team game mode where the objective is to parkour around the map, getting points for reaching score zones, that are generally placed in the hard-to-reach areas. However, if you want a competitive Parkour match, it is possible to host a custom FFA/TDM/Hardpoint game where the only available class is Runner, where the players/teams compete with each other to get the most points from score zones. This mode doesn't work on those maps where there are no score zones. It is also recommended that you set the timer to 0 in this mode so you will have unlimited time to parkour, because some parkour maps take a long time to complete.

As this game mode is very popular, you can find the parkour-specific maps through parkour and bhop keywords.

Hide & Seek (HIDE)[]

Added in v0.9.9993, Hide & Seek is a team-based game mode. Everyone starts the match as hiders, but once the 10-second countdown runs up, one randomly chosen player becomes a seeker, and their screen is blacked out for 45 seconds to give the hiders a headstart. Any extra players who join the round afterwards are also seekers. As soon as a hiding player is found (or if a hider kills him/herself), they join the seeker too. To win, seekers have to find everybody and hiders have to keep themselves from being found by the seekers by the timer ends.

As of v1.0.1, it is strongly recommended for the server hosts to turn off the Spectating setting if they want to include this mode, as otherwise the seekers could easily cheat in this manner.

Infected (INFECT)[]

Added in v0.9.9994, Infected is a team-based game mode that is similar to Hide & Seek, and the infected function is identical to the seekers. However, instead of one player being chosen randomly after the first 10 seconds of the match, the amount of infected players varies. In games with 5 or less people only one player will be chosen. 5 or more player games will have two infected, and 16 player games will have 3 infected.) The difference is that the humans can now shoot back, rather than just hide. (Though it's not unusual for someone who hid through the whole match to be the only surviving human.) Of course, as soon as an infected kills a human (or if a human kills him/herself), they die and are reborn as an infected, while the infected won't stop respawning no matter how much the humans shoot at them. All of the Infected are always "reborn" as a Runner class.

After the v1.0.1, the server hosts may wish to turn off the Spectating setting if they want to include this mode, since otherwise the infected searching for survivors hiding from them could simply die and then look for them in that mode.

Another very popular game mode, maps made for this mode have the keyword infect.

Race (RACE)[]

Added in v0.9.99998, it is a game mode that is much like Parkour, which is intended to be played with Runners only. Here, however, there's no time limit, and the first player to get to all the scorezones wins. Also, the race doesn't officially start until the first 10 seconds of the match elapse. Until that happens, the players are boosted backwards if they attempt to start early. This is so that the players who connected to the server first don't get an immediate advantage. The race mode has a special timer that starts once the first 10 seconds of the match elapse. It continues to count time (in minutes, seconds, and milliseconds,) until a player reaches all the scorezones. Once this happens, a warning timer shows up on the screen that says: Race ending in 10. From there, 10 seconds will count down and those who do not reach all the scorezones in that time did not finish (DNF). After these 10 seconds, the match ends.

Last Man Standing (LMS)[]

This game mode was added in v1.4.6 to replace the now removed comp game mode. Like its name suggests, the last player alive wins the match, and players do not regenerate health. This game mode is usually used for battle royale games.

Simon Says (SIMON)[]

This game mode was added in the v1.2.7. In this mode, the host of the custom game becomes "Simon" (every round). Simon receives 5000 HP like the boss in boss hunt. The purpose of this mode is to simulate the game of Simon Says in krunker. (Simon, in this case, the host will tell the other players to do a specific action, for example, jumping up and down while crouching.) If Simon feels like a player has not made a good enough effort in performing his specified action he/she can kill the player. (It is recommended that you have lives on so if a player makes enough mistakes he/she is out of the game.)

Prop Hunt (PROP)[]

This game mode is similar to hide and seek, with some added quirks. It was added in v1.5.7. There are two teams, the seekers and the props. The seekers' screens are blacked out at the beginning for 30 seconds, allowing the props (similar to the hiders in hide and seek) to hide and blend in with other props. The difference between hiders and props is that props are actual props (crates, teddy bears etc.) Props spawn as crates but can change their prop by double clicking while facing the prop they want to change into. The seekers must kill the props by shooting/slashing at them, but each time they shoot a false prop not housing a player and their ammo depletes, they take 10 damage. The seekers commit suicide when they reach 0 HP. If all the props are found and killed the seekers win but if the props are not found before the timer elapses, or if all seekers die, the props win.

Boss Hunt (BOSS) []

Was added in the v0.9.99997. Here, once the countdown at the start of the match elapses, one player is randomly selected by the game as the boss. The boss receives 5000 HP and all other players try to kill him/her before the round ends. The boss hunt mode was removed in v1.4.6 and added back in v1.7.4.

Stalker (STALK)[]

Special Halloween Game Mode for the spooks. In this mode, the map becomes dark and fog is ramped up, greatly decreasing visibility. One player is selected as the "stalker", whom have some special abilities;

  • Can go invisible when standing still for two seconds
  • Extremely fast (higher movement speeds)
  • Can jump much higher than the player
  • Has 400 HP which only regenerates if the Stalker kills a player
  • Can use only a Combat Knife, which can one-shot any class.
  • When they kill a player, a jumpscare will appear on the player's screen

One in the Chamber (OITC)[]

Player are given a gun with 1 bullet and can one hit kill, as well as use their melee weapon. Each kill awards you another bullet. Players only have 3 lives and 10 HP, and the player with the highest score wins.

Trade (TRADE)[]

This mode allows several players to meet up and make quick trades each other.

Defuse (DEF)[]

Added in v2.5.9, defuse is essentially search and destroy. The attacker must destroy 1 of the 2 objectives (named A or B) by detonating the bomb, or eliminating the defending team. Meanwhile the other team has to defend by either running the clock down, or eliminating the attacking team.

Team Deathmatch (TDM)[]

Players are split into two teams and kill everyone on the opposite team. You may want to consider class synergies to get and help teammates get more points. The winner is the team with the most team points which is calculated by the sum of your and your teammates' kill points. This mode was removed and added several times, before being in the game for good as a custom mode

Community modes[]

These modes can be achieved by changing some settings and using special maps.

Spleef[]

In this custom the maps used are breakable. Players try to break all the blocks/floor to make others players fall and kill themselves. The last person standing is declared winner. Game Settings are changed such that bullets don't do damage to players( Parkour mode is often used).

Dropper[]

In this mode the player "drops" from a high position and proceeds to strafe (Moveset) to avoid or dodge various obstacles. This game mode was first used in different maps of Minecraft and now is being adopted in Krunker.

Use the Race game mode and alter gravity for altering difficulty.

Melee/Boxing[]

In this mode, the only available class is Runner and the game mode is a combat mode (e.g. FFA, TDM, CTF, Point, Comp, Boss Hunt.) The goal is to center the game around hand to hand combat, where everyone is a Runner to even out the playing field. Compatible with any combat based game mode.

Surf/Skate/Halfpipe[]

In this custom mode the maps used have a special gimmick hindering player movement. It is a difference from the default ground movement. Ramps are made use of to cause the players to "surf" or "skate" around. It is best to use bhop or race mode if you want to make a custom game centered around these modes.

Removed modes[]

Gift Deposit (GDEPO)[]

Vist Gift Deposit for full info.

Social (SOCIAL)[]

A mode where everyone is on one team, and there's nothing to do but talk through the chat. Essentially, this mode was only useful if you wanted an improvised chatroom. No-one did, and so this was cut out. After all, nothing stops people from chatting in the other non-combat modes (be they Parkour or Race) anyway.

Clan War (CLAN)[]

Team Deathmatch, but where the teams were based on clans. If there are no clan players present, everyone was counted as the same team and unable to shoot at each other, and it was no different from the Social mode. There was never enough interest in it from the clans, and so this was cut out. Functionality of this game mode was replaced by being able to choose teams in custom TDM games (if enabled).

Deagles Only (DEAGLE)[]

This game mode was added in v0.9.9998. It was a Team Deathmatch mode where players could only fight with the Desert Eagle secondary weapon. It was removed in v0.9.9999, however, as the Deagler class became available for selection if no other class was picked instead, thus allowing for the same sort of challenge, without restricting it to a specific mode.

Competitive (COMP)[]

This is a game mode used for tournaments and 1v1s. The first player to get to 10 kills would win the match in this game mode. It was also added in the v0.9.99997. Was removed in v1.4.6 in favor of Last Man Standing.

Voting System[]

The voting system was added in v1.3.9. It allows players to select the game mode and map which they will be playing next. As of v5.0.0, the 4th option is now always a unique mode (Party Game Modes).
